Arsenal's cheaper-defender hierarchy is less certain after Ezri Konsa's arrival.
Riccardo Calafiori strengthened his own case by starting the 3-0 win over Coventry and creating Kai Havertz's opening goal.
Konsa now adds another experienced starter-level defender to the rotation.

He started and supplied the cross for Havertz's goal.
That makes his role more credible than it was during pre-season.

Konsa can play centrally and on the right.
He does not have to replace one specific player every week to reduce everyone's expected minutes.

Calafiori currently has the strongest combination of GW1 evidence and attacking upside, but Gabriel remains the cleanest long-term Arsenal defender.
Do not call any cheaper Arsenal defender permanently nailed yet.
