The short answer
The final pre-season weekend has now supplied the evidence this page was waiting for. The earlier version was deliberately provisional; after the 15–16 August final friendlies and Community Shield, several watchlist calls can be upgraded to likely Gameweek 1 roles.
The biggest changes are Tzolis becoming an expected Arsenal starter, Kinsky being confirmed as Tottenham's No.1, O'Nien emerging as a short-term £4.0m starter, De Cuyper playing in Brighton's attack, and multiple promoted-team defensive hierarchies becoming clearer.

The five biggest FPL winners
Christos Tzolis (£6.5m): two Community Shield assists and now expected to start on Arsenal's left.
Antonin Kinsky (£4.5m): Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed him as Tottenham's No.1, removing the biggest uncertainty in his price bracket.
Luke O'Nien (£4.0m): expected to start Sunderland's opening two fixtures.
Maxim De Cuyper (£4.5m): used on the left side of Brighton's attack while Minteh is injured.
João Pedro (£7.5m): seven pre-season goals, the most among Premier League clubs.
The biggest players to downgrade or recheck
Charlie Hughes is ruled out of Hull's GW1 match, so he should no longer be recommended as an opening £4.0m bench starter. Bruno Fernandes has missed two consecutive pre-season penalties, which weakens the assumption that penalties are a completely settled part of his projection. Coventry's forward hierarchy must be reopened after Awoniyi's arrival.

Final-friendly roles are stronger evidence than early July experimentation, but they are not guarantees. The final manager press conferences can still change injury availability and starting calls. Use this page with the live predicted-lineup and injury pages rather than treating any pre-season XI as permanent.
